for those of interest . blogger's flag

now i've not been the one to showcase nude photos or post links to free adult content. i do not think my blog content is "questionable" or "offensive"... except maybe to sunday church goers and some conservative, desperate housewives. [now for those housewives who do check me out and enjoy my services, i thank you ladies]

remember visitors, i'm not x rated material and you shouldn't be viewing this if you are under the age of 18. i am in no way sending this information to you. you are choosing to recieve it.

with that said, if you look to the top right corner of aguysite blog [or any blog hosted on blogger.com] you'll see a flag. if any fellow bloggers have visitors clicking that little flag, 2 things can happen. one, you can be labeled as "unlisted".

and two, blogger.com has the right to completely delete your entire blog. i currently back up my blog every 15 days. all entries are saved. you should do the same if you run a similar blog with "questionable" content.

if for some reason aguysite blog is wiped off the pc, i will re-open under a new domain name and use typepad.com services, the site i currently run guytvblog.com. i plan on taking aguysite blog off blogger.com next year so this new flag doesn't bother me. does it bother you?

This did bother me, until I read the FAQs.

http://buzz.blogger.com/2005/08/not-automatic-for-people.html

Basically, they just don't want to link to any dirty sites on their frontpage or list of 'recently updated blogs' or their "random blog" tagbar feature.

It doesn't sound like it's as bad as you posit it to be, but I still don't like it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens

Whoa. Never notice the Flag before. Now that you mention it I ought to be careful too. What actually constitute 'questionable contents'? Did Blogger say anything about it anywhere?

Those who read your blogs should read the notice you have posted about "adult content". I agree that you have never posted any frontal nudity and this is fine. Am a paralegal and I will fight for you if there is a need.

I doubt blogger.com would just delete your blog. Compared to some others they host, your content is pretty mild.

You also have a content warning prominently displayed at the top of the page. If they scroll down and gasp "oh my, semi-nude men!", that's their problem. The warning is there and if they can take the time to read your post, they can read that too.

hey nate.

is the guy in the pic married? somewhere between the champagne bottle up his ass i noticed a gold ring.

anyway, if you think about sending blogger a mail to overturn your blog's 'flagged' status and expect them to be kind, you are so wrong my friend, so so wrong...i learnt it.

I recommend flagging the sites of these right wing "Christian" nutbuckets. That's what constitutes "questionable content" to me.
